Let me kick on a serious tip for a moment:

I want you to point out where Discovery stated that they are trying to save the world. The fact that they have a channel dedicated to the green and one dedicated to the military does not make them hypocrites, on the contrary, it adds support to their mission statement. Their programming is about folks understanding the world around them and like it or not, the military is part of the world around them, just as green inititves, lemurs, sharks, skyscrapers and now spoiled little brats are. The problem is, you myopic little reprobate, you have nothing better to do than glam on to others ideas, bastardizing them, and trying to shove them down people's throats. For television programming like Discovery's, it is up to the viewer to make their own conclusions, expound on the given topics, and react as they see fit to the content. Which you have certainly down, in a primitive and I will say again, myopic way.

This sad, little crusade of yours is about you Lee and not the world. If it was about the world, you would be doing good, not...well I am at a loss to describe what you are doing. You are not noble, you are not breaking new grounds, you are not a visionary or thought leader. But you are impassioned, which is good; but sadly your passion is directed in the wrong areas. Protest all you want, say what you need to say, I am all for that. I just pity the real causes out there who are in dire need of money, time, volunteers.

One more thing, next time... read more than one book and take more than one viewpoint before you go crying that Dirty Jobs caused the sky to fall, or that Adam & Jamie caused global warming because of a mento and diet Coke.

You have said a lot of things, but made no argument when others have held your hypothesis up to test. Having an interest is science as you claim, you should know this. Fact is not fact becuase you think it is. Science is based on experimention and validity testing, not just bullshit conjecture from a person who has claimed to not read anything else for the last year and a half that does not involve Daniel Quinn's (a writer mind you, he doesn't even hold a PhD). I have many examples of your avoidence, my favorite is my own; where or when did Discovery say they were trying to save the world. You have also failed to give any real factual methods of saving the planet yourself, and again, paraphrasing an untested hypothesis by a writer does not count.

So you like to bet there lil' fella... I am taking some time off next week from my McJob clubbing baby seals, so if you can post in this forum your quantitative proof that Daniel Quinn's theory (though I hesitate to use that word because because an hypothesis is not a theory unless it has been rigorously tested) AND if you can give me documented proof that Discovery has ever claimed to try and save the planet. I will protest with you. I live five minutes from Discovery Headquarters in Silver Spring.

you Little brain, they don't claim their programming is to make the world better. I am not afaid to test a theory, your's is not a theory. If you told that day is night, I would ask you to define what night is. Or if you told me how discovery should be held responsible for the worlds woes I would ask you, why? Which I have, and you respond with nothing more than, cuz it isn't getting better. That response is the reason I and probably any sane adult thinks yer a....flea.

What to say, what to say... Okay, I have three choices here:

a.) You are one of the biggest fools on the planet
b.) You are making a very, very impressive prank

Let me know what to pick. But again, my deal stands, if you can answer the two questions I asked I'll help and protest with you... I will even try to get some folks to join me, hell, I might even pay for half your expenses on those page ads.

Then God's speed, misterfifteen... if you can save the planet, save it. If this doesn't work, which I am confident it won't, don't give up on trying. Just find better arguements, real antagonists, and more coherent protestations. It's been real.

It's like crack for me now, evidently, checking out how your mind works through these posts. So like the junkie I am, here is my response.

Second: I don't care if you go away or not, you are actually quite entertaining in a Farrelly brother's movie sort of way, what I do wish for, however, is for you is to pick a real issue (like pollution, global warming etc... etc... not "Ooooohhhh Discovery is an arms dealer becuase the put out content on tanks"). Also, if you are serious and not a nutjob, which you seem to be based off your no logic, no tangible evidence, rants, then more power to you. Rock on dude and take on the establishment, the real establishment, not a network whose library consists of very little of their own programming. AS AWESOME AS THAT PROGRAMMING IS!!!

I said it before, I like your passion and desire for a better world, but your shotty arguements and half ass attempts at logic are ridiculous. If you donated that much time, energy, and money, you could probably do some noble and effective things. But you won't because you are a selfish prat who needs attention, and certainly is in desperate need of a few 100 level philosphy and science classes.

They are only interested in more bullshit products Actually, they don't care about manufacturing products, they care about advertising and affiliate dollars. Here are some of their bullshit solutions to 'saving the planet':

25) Get a reel (human-powered) lawn mower - Reduces emissions from a once combustable engine
24) Compost your garbage - allows you to avoid filling up land fills
23) Buy clothes and other linens made from organic cotton. Uses nature and fibers that can be grown in a controlled environment without the use of pesticides, etc...
22) Ride a bicycle. - See 25
21) Use eco-friendly household cleaners. - Reduces CFCs, hence reduces the amount of greenhouse gases

These ARE JUST SALES ADS- Believe me, they aren't sales ads, I don't think Discovery wants get into the manufacturing business

not REAL SOLUTIONS! They could be the solution is everyone does it over a period of time.
