I said before that I do not work for Discovery. I live in Silver Spring, MD and have since 2001. I work for one of the Washington DC Metro Area State natural
resource management agencies. I specialize in managing and conserving our natural resources through understanding species (flora and fauna) biology and the
perspections/beliefs of the people who live in the landscapes with them - it is a field called the human dimensions of natural resources. It is basically
sociology and wildlife biology fused to manage ecosystems holistically. I also specialize in marrying technology and natural resources management together to
get a big picture of what is going on and how resources are used.
I am happy that you are listening to some of what we say, I think everyone here posting understands and 'gets' your message and sees that you care
about your cause. What you are not getting is that Discovery as a company understands and 'gets' your cause as well, and doing a protest against an
entity that 'gets' your cause and is right there with you (but might not be at the same level you are from your point of view) is fruitless. If
someone takes note of your protest and then calls Discovery out on the accusations you made against them; their facts, science and lists and lists of how
they are working to better the planet will squash all of your claims and you will look the fool. This is the one thing we here posting to you do not want
this to happen because you have a good cause. I think we all want you genuinely to be successful in carrying your message to the public. We are also going
out of our way to offer you sound, professional advise on how to make a positive difference, instead of a negative one. If you do not take the advice given,
that is your choice.... but have you notice there has not been one person posting that is in agreement with you on this protest? A protest of one is just a
struggle of ones self, an internal struggle and not a movement toward changing the greater good.
Just think about every piece of advice that was offered here, instead of reacting to each post as an attack. Nothing posted was an attack on your character,
they are to persuade you to take a different path to getting your message out. You already have a web site, change the focus to just saving the planet.... if
you disagree with Discovery's programming (which you seem to be confusing their various networks with actual shows - their networks are Discovery, TLC,
Animal Planet, Health, Military, Science, Planet Green....etc.) ask you site visitors to not watch their programming. This is a much better protest that will
not lead to an attack on your credibility and character, which will happen if you are the lone protester throwing stones or the leader of the protest in
general. Just think about every post that was listed here. We took a lot of time to offer advice and post messages to you....
It seems like it's mostly THE ANGRY people who reply. And if you are correct and I'm standing out there alone, you will be vindicated and it was
'just me' doing this. So why try to stop it? Let it happen as it's going to and you'll be proven right and that there was zero support for this
initiative just like you are implying. So I'm going to take your advice and protest for people not to watch Discovery anymore AT THE PROTEST. Got it?
I'll be calling for viewers everywhere on those days to ignore Discovery and boycott their shows, products, and other lucrative interests unless they
CHANGE their shows.
I think people like you are the problem as well in trying to make the area 'grow' economically at the expense of the wildlife. People here tell me that
this area was FULL of trees and life, BEFORE the Discovery Channel 'revitilized' by turning it into another 'developed' graveyard of

Everyone who is posting here (besides "Misterfifteen"- an obvious reference to the Fifteen Minutes of Fame he hopes to garnish from this fruitless
exertion of time and energy - AKA "Lee"), it's time to let your frustration go and get on with your lives. He is not heeding anyone's
advice. He picks the words out of your painstakingly thought out pleas, scrambles them around and makes them fit into his flawed agenda. He is either 1 - not
a native speaker of english, 2 - seriously disturbed as a result of improper socialization, or 3 - both. Anyone who's protest consists of shouting to
passersby that they should cease their patronage of the Discovery Communications' networks, when those passersby are either the employees of said
company, OR the lower middle class citizens who frequent the area due to the bus terminal, Marc train and Metro, and who most likely can't afford the
cable package which carries the networks, cannot be reasoned with. I, for one, will not be checking back here again. I just have one more thing to point out.
Lee has chosen to feature a photo, of what I can only assume is himself, that is far too reminiscent of Cho Seung-hui - scowling expression, no smile -
whereas his aim is to recruit people to help save the planet. Ooh, yes, Lee - where can I sign up? (That's sarcasm, by the way - a literary device
employed to convey irony. It's also a rhetorical question, not requiring an answer). Anyone who is this socially irresponsible, is not worth my time.
Like I keep saying. If people disagree with me, no one will show up on the protest dates. So why do you think that I should drop the whole thing? Just let
it happen and laugh it off when you are proven right. This can't possibly be a problem with anyone, can it? After all, if Discovery is at all right, they
are right and the world is safe in their hands and everything will be just swell.
Why should I smile? Should I be laughing at the state of the planet? Should I give a big smile to everyone when they tell me the planet is fucked? Do you think
that this is some kind of JOKE??? I find it very strange how people can smile over tragic news, especially this one.

Dont Play into Mr.Save the Planet's B.S.His real goal in life is to put down any idea or thought you have to make himself feel important.
Who is this? Bruce? If you have a good idea it will be obvious to all that it's a good idea. If an idea is good, it will stand up to evaluation. What?
Do you think EVERY idea is automatically GOOD? What if someone said "Hey, let's make pots out of lead instead of steel." Is that a good idea?
Should it be accepted 'just cause?' Do you think I should polish your ego to make you feel good even though that idea totally sucks. I keep telling
you, GOOD IDEAS THAT WORK! Do you know what 'work' means?

I took a look at their show, "Future Weapons" again and I have to say that it's really true that these guys are like arms dealers or they work
for them. Where do they get off pretending to be an "Green" channel? These guys are destroying the planet! These guys must change their programming
You should especially protest Puppy Bowl!!! Discovery is breeding atomic super dogs to take over the world. And as we all know, atomic super dogs are
soooooooo not eco-friendly. Phew, finally glad we can both agree on something.

Future Weapons is on the Military Channel - which is not dedicated to 'green' programming. Planet Green is dedicated to 'green' programming
and will be launched soon I think. The actual Discovery Channel is dedicated to educate viewers about the world about them. You need to get your terminology
straight because you certainly do not understand you opponent. Discovery is the company, and then they have all these different networks with dedicated
programming. I have watched Discovery for years and I get this. They do not need to change their programming, they doing a wonderful job meeting their
objectives.... keep in point, their objectives, goals and mission. If you have a different set of goals, become a competitor and start your own company.
I don't think it would fly because you do not understand the difference between corporate entities, their subsidiaries and the programming each network
puts out. I am tired of this uneducated and informed garbage... yes, my tone has changed because I am bored with all of this incorrect propoganda being
reported by you. You are a liability to the green movement.
Are you INSANE??? I don't care what double-talk, different-channel, slight-of-hand they are doing with their shows, it's ALL THEM. On one of their
shows it's "Animals", and on the other it's humans harrassing them. On one show it's "help save the planet", and on another
show it's "Future Weapons" to kill everyone. On another show it's "The reefs are dying", and on the other channel it's
"Brave Fisherman catch plenty of fish." They are full of double-talk and need to start saving the planet. It's EVERYONE's responsibility to
save the planet ESPECIALLY a company like Discovery Channel that is already claiming to do that. If they have a different set of goals, I suggest they move
their company to Mars.

Whoa! Those clips were awesome! Thanks for posting - I'll have to find out when that program is on and start watching!
If those things are so fun, why not see those things in action firsthand? I hear they're having a jolly good ol' time using those very weapons in
war this very day. But maybe it's funnier to you when see how effective they are in wiping out masses of people and creatures? Is that what you like? I
don't think you would think it was so funny or entertaining if those weapons were being used on you and your family.

These people are ARMS dealers. Can't you see that? You laugh with bravado, but I bet you'd cry like a baby if ever those things made it to your
Like a baby perhaps...but certainly not whimper; cuz Atomic Super Dogs know NO FEAR!!! Except for the Atomic Super Mailmen!!!
